On
Scarborough beach you could spend your whole holiday being
a beachcomber - pathfinder - sun worshipper - shell collector
- discoverer.
Along the coastline there are an abundance of rock pools -
when the tide is low of course - set amongst a proliferation
of ancient boulders. Take time to discover their inhabitants.
Sit upon a rock and in the stillness of the moment, hear the
waves move, the waters lap and the beating of a birds wing.
As you sit, walk, stroll, or run along the beach, you will
notice bird life all around you. Take time to watch them eat.
I shall not tell you more.
In summer, the sun rises early so it is light enough to walk
on the beach around 5:30am! Crazy you may think, but if you
have the courage to get up at that time, you will see the
clawless otter make its way to and from the ocean.
Sitting down amongst the dunes, getting tanned and relaxed,
perhaps lie down with your feet up the dune and your head
near the sea – watch the world upside down and let those
lymph glands drain – sounds crazy? You’ll feel
liberated! The world looks just as good upside down!
Watching waves and the setting sun is something we all do
here as a matter of course, and with the setting of each sun,
we are thankful for yet another beautiful day in paradise.
