Fish Hoek is an ugly, badly planned seaside village
where, historically, all the shops were run by the owners
and service was personable.
Since the birth of shopping malls and department stores, Fish
Hoek has become a banking, legal, auto and insurance district;
dull and basic with the occasional bright smile.
The beach is well worth a visit. Perfect swimming conditions
- that is if you are not shark bait. It is important that
visitors and locals adhere to the strict shark warnings as
sharks are a reality and we have had fatal attacks in the
bay recently. Please be vigilant with all your possessions
on all beaches throughout the Peninsula.
The railway line at Fish Hoek originates in Simon’s
Town and terminates in the City of Cape Town.
