Renowned for the quality of its crayfish, surfing
and birdlife, Kommetjie is a quiet and rustic seaside village
nestling between the Slangkop Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean.
The beautiful Catholic Church on the hill is worth a visit
and you could visit the tallest cast-iron lighthouse on the
South African Coastline. Tours can be arranged. The climb
to the top of the lighthouse is a steep one but the views
are magnificent.
In Erica Road, you could visit Rene at the post office and
catch up with your email at the Internet desk. There are several
shops and eateries where you can relax, and you can even get
your hair done, or have a massage at Dash-It.
There is an ABSA machine in the café if you need to
get some cash to enjoy an evenings entertainment at one of
several restaurants or grab takeways. Perhaps you would prefer
to hire a video and just chill at home in your slippers!
