Until
around the turn of the century, Scarborough remained the sleepy
hippy village know only to those who frequented it for its
water sports and quiet beauty. Situated on the boundary of
the Cape Point Reserve, sightings of bird and wild life are
constant.
Fortunately, because of the extreme weather conditions and
prevailing seasonal winds, Scarborough was not considered
a place to live.
For those who did, it was a place to get the creative juices
flowing, to start a family or to retire to. Life was slow,
absorbing and full of adventure. tell
